Our Story

How Plan It Event Coordination Started 

The Brand 

At Plan It Event Coordination we aim to organize and manage your events by Executing them precisely to result in a wonderful Experience for all Involved and to Exceed Expectations.

From start to finish our management team will execute your event down to the smallest detail.

Located in Birmingham, Alabama, Plan It Event Coordination provides event management services for any event, with a unique specialty in wedding management.

To date, Plan It Event Coordination has managed and executed tons of weddings and events and takes pride in the end result every time.

The Executor 


I’m Cassandra Murphy Harlequin, owner and principle coordinator of Plan It Event Coordination.

I began event planning after graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. My employment background is governmental accounting. Yes I love budgets and numbers! 

I currently live in the Birmingham area with my husband (Gerville) and daughter (Kinsley Nicole), but I grew up in a small Southern Georgia town called Glennville.

I love to travel and have a secret love affair with salad.

I can say I’m a true Southern girl who loves people and absolutely loves helping and being of service to others!

Add that with an unscheduled wedding dilemma, and the Plan It Brand was born!

How it all Began

Believe it or not, I’ve always loved event planning!

From planning details for my high school prom, to organizing the first ever Relay for Life on my college campus, to hosting sorority and church functions, my start in the event management industry has been very challenging. But what launched my love, and passion for wedding planning was the day I said I Do to my beloved husband, Gerville.

Imagine, I'd found the perfect dress and booked the best vendors, including one of the area's top wedding planners. I was beyond thrilled! Everything was going according to plan! I was so excited, until our wedding planner unexpectedly was no longer able to attend our wedding!

So, I did what any modern bride would do, I took the reins of planning my own wedding and enlisted assistance from family and friends to form a full coordination team!

I can’t lie doing my own wedding coordination was not an easy undertaking, especially since like most Brides I had never physically orchestrated a wedding from start to finish and there was a lot of pressure to not ruin one of the biggest days of my life! It required tons of additional work and guidance to help ensure my wedding day plans were fulfilled and as a Bride to Be who wanted to enjoy and celebrate the moment,  I didn’t fully have the time.

Although I enjoyed every minute of my wedding day, in hindsight, there was a lot that I wished I had done differently.

But it was through my own mishap and experience of hiring non industry equipped professionals to handle one of the most precious days of my life that I was able to shape the foundation of the Plan It Event Coordination brand and our specialty service of wedding management.

The Plan It Philosophy 

Now here we are, a decade later, and several weddings and events under my belt, and I’m still in I love with weddings and events, only at this time, I have a lot more skills and expertise to share with clients.

Plan It Event Coordination provides customized services for clients in Alabama and Georgia.

We take pride in our mission....Executing an Experience like no other and Exceeding Expectations. We strive daily to achieve our mission through our amazing concierge service leading up to the wedding or event, handling everything on the day of the event/wedding, and completing all post event/wedding needs.

We ensure that not only is the client cared for, but family, friends, guests, and vendors are as well.
